Assign or reassign requests by using the Assignment component
Before you begin
Make sure you create a view definition with Record editor to which you want to add a Assignment component. For more information, see Creating-a-view-for-a-record-instance-by-using-record-editor.
To add an assignment component to a view definition
- Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
- Select the application for which you want to add the Assignment component.
- On the Views tab, click the name of the view definition to which you want to add the Assignment component.
- From Palette, drag the Assignment component to the Record editor component.
In the Properties pane, click Settings

Turn on the toggle key to disable the Assignment component.
Hidden
Turn on the toggle key to hide the Assignment component at runtime.
Assignee Support Company

Select the field that contains the value for the support company.
Display Label
Enter a unique label for the field.

Click Click to build an expression to define a condition to display a specific value from the list as the default value.
(Optional) Named List
Select the named list that you want to associate with this field.
(Optional) Named List qualification
Click Click to build an expression to define the condition on which items appear on the named list in the application.

Select the field that contains the value for the support organization.
Display Label
Enter a unique label for the field.
Value
Click Click to build an expression to define a condition to display a specific value from the list as the default value.
(Optional) Named List
Select the named list that you want to associate with this field.
(Optional) Named List qualification
Click Click to build an expression to define the condition on which items are displayed in the named list in the application.

Customize View
Show Assign To me
Use the toggle key to display the Show Assign To me option on the view.
You can use the Show Assign To me option to assign the tickets, cases, knowledge articles to yourself.
Show More Fields
Use the toggle key to display all the fields on the view.
If you do not turn on the toggle key, then only the Assignee Support Group and Assignee fields are displayed on the view.
Show Browse Button
Use the toggle key to enable the search option for the view.
Display Label
Enter the label for the Show Assign To me option.
This field is visible only if you turn on the Show Assign To me toggle key.
- Click Save.
