Assign or reassign requests by using the Assignment component

The Assignment component is available in the Common Components section of the View designer and is visible only if the Common Components bundle is deployed.

As a developer or an application business analyst, you can use the Assignment component in a view to assign or reassign tickets, cases, and knowledge articles in your application to a support group or a support assignee within the company.

For example, you have a view to create a case. You can use the Assignment component in the view to assign a case to the case assignee from a specific support group.

Important

Application business analysts can customize the objects developed in their own applications and that are marked customizable by the administrator, but cannot customize the objects developed in com.bmc.arsys in Best Practice Customization mode. For example, objects in core BMC applications like Foundation, Approval, and Assignment cannot be customized in Best Practice Customization mode.  For more information, see Customization layer.
