Tailoring applications and automating processes

As an application business analyst, you can tailor an application that is deployed in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. For example, an administrator deployed an application to onboard new hires that requires employee details such as first name, last name, employee ID, and so on. The application mostly meets your requirements; however, your organization wants to start tracking employee assets and employee skills as part of the onboarding process. In BMC Helix Innovation Studio, by using the same development tool, an application business analyst can customize the onboarding application record definitions and add the fields to the employee details.

You can customize your application to automate processes so that you can save time and reduces user efforts. You can automate the processes that you want to perform in a third-party system, such as Microsoft Azure, Jenkins, and Automation Anywhere Robotic Process Automation.

Important

Application business analysts can customize the objects developed in their own applications and that are marked customizable by the developers, but cannot customize the objects developed in com.bmc.arsys. in Best Practice Customization Mode. For example, objects in core BMC applications like Foundation, Approval, and Assignment cannot be customized in Best Practice Customization Mode. For more information, see Customization layer.
