Managing user access and permissions
Primarily, BMC Helix Innovation Studio aims to cater to the needs of an administrator, and an application business analyst. An administrator sets up BMC Helix Innovation Studio by adding user accounts and configuring the system. An application business analyst builds an application on BMC Helix Innovation Studio and defines how that application should work by implementing business processes.
An administrator can create other administrators and application business analysts by adding user accounts in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. The administrator can also create new roles for an application that is built on BMC Helix Innovation Studio and assign them to users.
The following table lists the tasks to set up user accounts, and grant users the access to manage and maintain BMC Helix Innovation Studio:
Action | Reference |
---|---|
Understand the roles and permissions level for each role. | Roles and permissions |
Define application roles and map them to explicit groups. | Creating and modifying application roles |
Grant permission to a user to perform tasks in multiple applications by combining application roles into a single role. | Creating Functional roles |
Assign the application role to a user to enable access to reports. | Enabling access to BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting |
