Adding accounts

A connector account contains information that is required to connect to the third-party system. For example, consider a connector that integrates an application with JIRA services. In this case, a tenant administrator should create a connector account that consists of the JIRA account user credentials.

Important

If a connector does not need authentication to connect to the third-party system, you do not need to create the connector account. For example, connectors for third-party services such as TrueSight Operations Management, Nagios, and SMTP Email contain the authentication information in their connector configurations. You do not need a connector account to use such connectors.

Before you begin

Before you create a connector account, ensure that you have created the connector configuration.

To create a connector account

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Integration Studio.
  2. Select Catalog > Connectors, and then select the connector for which you want to create an account.
  3. Expand the connector pane to navigate to Accounts, and then click Add Account.

  4. Enter the username and password of the connector account, and click Login.

Important

  • For the Remedyforce, Salesforce, and Salesforce Service Cloud connectors, you can use sandbox accounts if the configuration type of these connectors is set to Sandbox. For more information about the sandbox configuration type, see Adding or updating a configuration.
  • If the user account defined for the connector has expired when the connector is started in flow, the expired user account is not reauthorized and is available in the list of available accounts.
