Adding a View preset selector to a view

A view preset is a predefined collection of configurations applied to a view. Use the View preset selector, a built-in view component, to create a list of customizable view presets. As a developer or an application business analyst, you can add a View preset selector component to a view that you are creating or updating. You can also add, rename, share, or delete a view preset by using View preset selector actions at runtime.

You can add multiple view preset selectors to a view. You can associate one View preset selector with multiple view components, but you can associate one view component with only one View preset selector.

Types of view presets in View preset selector

BMC Helix Innovation Studio supports the following types of view presets:

  • Shared view presets—These view presets are created at design time and can be modified only at design time. You can customize the shared view presets at runtime, and save the changes as custom view presets. You can also save the shared view preset as a custom view preset by renaming the view preset.
By default, the first shared view preset is applied when you open a view.

    Important

You cannot delete or update a shared view preset at runtime.

  • Custom view presets—These view presets are defined at runtime. You can create, update, rename, and delete the custom view presets after the view is loaded.
