Understanding XCF requirements
RMGR uses the Cross-System Coupling Facility (XCF).
During communication processes, RMGR uses the following names to establish or join XCF groups:
XCF groups | Members |
---|---|
BMCIRM00 | One for each active RMGR |
BMCIRM01 | One for each active RMGR, and one for each active IMS This group is not used with a legacy multiple-RMGR configuration. |
IRMCimsid | One for the RMGR, and one entry for each batch job communicating with the RMGR |
RMGR name | One for the RMGR, and one entry for each batch job communicating with the RMGR |
sharegroup name | One identifying the RMGR |
These names must be unique in the XCF domain.
Beginning with the Backup and Recovery product releases of August 29, 2003, if RMGR is active in the operating system, all Backup and Recovery utilities for IMS will attempt to join an XCF group that is established at RMGR startup. The operating system definitions for XCF should be reviewed and adjusted, if necessary, to ensure that the XCFMEMBER limit will not be exceeded when multiple utility jobs are initializing simultaneously. For more information, see the Installation System documentation.
