Configuring categories for solutions

When you add a new solution, you must select a category it belongs to, and a sub-category if applicable.

Categories and sub-categories enable you to organize solutions by their topic or sub-topic.  You can add, remove, or modify the available categories and sub-categories by using the System Settings console.

To add a category for solution

  1. Open the System Settings console.
  2. Select Application Settings > Solution Category.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Solution Category Details section, perform the following:
    1. In the Category field, enter a category name.
    2. In the Category Description, enter the description for the category.

    3. In the Image Name list, select an avatar for the category.
    4. From the Status list, select Active to make this category available when creating or modifying solutions.
  5. Click Save&Close.

To add a sub-category to a solution category

  1. Open the System Settings  console.
  2. Select Application Settings > Solution Category.
  3. Select a solution category from the list, and click Modify.
  4. In the Sub Categories section, enter a sub-category name into the Search field.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Save&Close.
