Licensing

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization services are available with the purchase of any of the following line items from your ordering document:

Additional license terms

The following additional terms apply to the BMC Helix Continuous Optimization services:

• Licensing terms and conditions are as defined in the governing master agreement and take precedence over any published description from this site.
• Entitlements are subject to change.
• BMC Helix Dashboards and BMC Helix Portal are included as entitlements.
• There is a database storage limit of 70 GB for online data and 10 GB for repository data for every 1,000 assets purchased, collectively.

• Data retention and storage limitation apply as follows: 

  Data type	Description	Retention period	Storage limit
  Raw metrics	All raw metrics stored in the solution	90 days	Raw metrics and aggregated metrics for every 1,000 assets licensed
  Aggregated metrics	All metrics that have been aggregated hourly/daily/monthly stored in the solution	2 years

Customers using server or network data within BMC Helix Continuous Optimization must have one of these licenses, regardless of how the data may be imported. 

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization for Mainframes 

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization for Mainframes is an on-premises license that enables organizations to analyze, forecast and optimize current mainframe resources and plan for future demands. It provides valuable insights by collecting and analyzing IBM z/OS and subsystem metrics, including CPU, memory, and storage.  The mainframe data can be stored and used in the cloud-based BMC Helix Continuous Optimization service with the purchase of the required amount of BMC Helix Additional Storage.
