Configuring Automation Anywhere connector in a business process

As a developer and application business analyst, you can use the Connector in your process and configure the element tautomate any task or a manual flow within your application.

Before you begin

  • Configure the Automation Anywhere connector configuration and profile in BMC Helix Integration Service. For more information, see Adding the Automation Anywhere connector configuration.
  • Connect to BMC Helix Integration Service by providing credentials including user name, URL, and password in Administration > Configure My Server > Integration Service > Authentication.
  • Create the connector configuration. For more information, see Adding connector configurations

 To configure the Automation Anywhere element in a process

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio. 
  2. From the Workspace tab, navigate to the application where you want to automate any task. 
  3. Perform one of the following tasks:
    • To add the Connector element to a new process, select Processes > New
    • To add the Connector element to an existing process, click the Processes, and click the name of the process.
  4. From the Palette, drag the Connector element to the canvas at that point where you want to automate the task, and enter the values for the following properties:

    PropertyDescription
    GENERAL
    LabelEnter the label for the Connector element.
    DescriptionDescribe the details about the connector, such as the applications that will be integrated by using this connector, other properties, and so on.
    Connection NameEnter the same name as entered for the Connection tab for this connection.
    INPUT MAP
    ConnectionSelect the name from the list. The list includes all the connectors that are configured in Connector Configurations from the Administration tab.
    Use as aliasEnable the option if you want to use the connector element as an alias. For more information about processes related to aliases, see Adding connector configurations and Mapping an alias to connector configuration.
    Action

    Select Run RPA Bot Script to trigger an event or a task in your application.

    Process Correlation IDSelect Click to build an expression to select the correlation ID that can be used to uniquely identify a process instance execution. 
    RPA Bot NameSelect Click to build an expression to select the bot name.
    (Optional) Bot variablesSelect Click to build an expression to select the value for the variables defined in your process.

    Note: Ensure that the variable name is same as the variable name defined in the RPA script.

  5. Click Save
