ReleaseSummary

19.08,

19.02.01

19.02

18.11.01

18.11

When accessing BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Internet Explorer 11, the following features do not work appropriately:

  • On the BMC Helix Innovation Studio login page, in the User Name field, the cursor is not displayed.
  • In Foundation library, the parent operational categories are not displayed in search results. To overcome this issue, go to Control Panel > Language and add all the languages listed in BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
  • In Process and Rule designer, names of elements that are long, such as, Disassociate All RecordsAutomatic Assignee SuggestionCall Assignment Policy, overlap on the element icon.
  • In Process designer, when configuring the Timer element, the increase or decrease counter buttons  are not displayed.
  • In Process designer, if you attempt to modify the label or description of an element, the browser page refreshes and becomes unresponsive.
  • In Record designer, when you create a Floating or Integer type field, you can enter letters in fields that must accept only numeric values.
  • In Record designer, when accessing the Record Grid element the date format is displayed in an incorrect format, for example dd-Mon-yy. The expected format is Mon dd, yyyy.
  • In View designer, when configuring the Action Button element, the fields in the Properties tab are not aligned uniformly.
  • When copying GUID from a record instance to View designer, the GUID is not copied appropriately.
  • In View designer, when you enter text in the Rich Text element, you cannot select the text by double-clicking it.

For more information about these limitations and their workaround, see known and corrected issues.

Post upgrade behavior

The following table describes certain behavior that takes place after upgrading to BMC Helix Platform version 19.08:

VersionBehavior
19.08
  • When the value of a character field is set to an empty string by using the Value expression or Set Property action, the value will now be converted to null.
  • When a view is opened in a pane or modal dialog box by using the Open View UI action, the ESC key and X button will work only if the view has the Close View action with Act as Cancel set to True. Otherwise, the X button is hidden in the modal dialog box and the pane or dialog box does not close when you press the ESC key.
  • In a view, if there are expressions that check for the presence of a view input parameter, the expressions should compare the parameter value with an empty string as opposed to the null value.

Deprecated features

The following table provides information about the deprecations, that is, features that are no longer supported in BMC Helix Platform. To prevent errors, you must avoid using these deprecated features.

VersionSummary
19.08BMC will no longer support creating export packages. Instead, you can use content packages.

19.08,

19.05

When an administrator upgrades to a new version of an application, the option to opt in or opt out in the test and tailoring environments is no longer available. Instead, the upgrade process automatically opts in for all the environments.

19.08,

19.05

The LoginCommand and LogoutCommand APIs are removed from the BMC Helix Platform software development kit (com.bmc.arsys.rx.sdk-19.5.0.zip).

If you are using the LoginCommand and LogoutCommand APIs in your applications or libraries, ensure that you update all the instances of these APIs with the LoginRequest and LogoutRequest APIs. For more details on the REST APIs, see Platform REST API documentation.
