Limitations, deprecations, and post upgrade procedures

The following table provides information about the limitations of BMC Helix Platform. 







When accessing BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Internet Explorer 11, the following features do not work appropriately:

  • On the BMC Helix Innovation Studio login page, in the User Name field, the cursor is not displayed.
  • In Foundation library, the parent operational categories are not displayed in search results.
  • In Process and Rule designer, names of some elements overlap on the element icon.
  • In Process designer > Timer Event element, the increase and decrease counter buttons are not displayed.
  • In Record designer, you can enter alphabets in fields that must contain numeric values.
  • In View designer, the Action Button element properties are not aligned uniformly.
  • When copying GUID from a record instance to View designer, the GUID is not copied appropriately.
  • In View designer > Rich Text element, you cannot select the text by double-clicking the mouse.

Deprecated features

The following table provides information about the deprecations, that is, features that are no longer supported in BMC Helix Platform. To prevent errors, you must avoid using these deprecated features.


When an administrator upgrades to a new version of an application, the option to opt in or opt out in the test and tailoring environments is no longer available. Instead, the upgrade process automatically opts in for all the environments. For more information, see Upgrading to a new version of an application with zero downtime.


The LoginCommand and LogoutCommand APIs are removed from the BMC Helix Platform software development kit (

If you are using the LoginCommand and LogoutCommand APIs in your applications or libraries, ensure that you update all the instances of these APIs with the LoginRequest and LogoutRequest APIs. For more details on the REST APIs, see Platform REST API documentation.
