Importing container templates
You can save a container's configuration settings as a template in xml format and use it to restore these settings or to create containers. This is particularly useful when you want to standardize the containers for your environment. It can also be helpful when creating or updating containers in a test system that you need to move to the production system.
Prerequisite
Before you can import a template, you must export the container's configuration settings. For detailed instructions, see Exporting-container-configurations.
To import a container template
You can import a template that you previously exported for a container and reapply its configuration settings.
- Open the container that you want to modify:
- Click the Administration tab.
- In the appropriate section, click the name of the container or click Manage to open the container Administration page. Then double-click the container.
The container details page appears.
- Click Actions > Apply template file.
The Apply Template to dialog box appears. - Click Browse, select the XML template file that you want to apply, and click Open.
The selected file appears in the File Name field. - Click OK.
A warning message appears, stating that the changes cannot be undone and may delete the container data. - >Click Yes.
The Template applied successfully message appears. - Publish the container to implement your changes:
- Click Save and Publish.
>A confirmation message appears. - Click Yes.
The Publication Succeeded message appears, showing the number of errors and warnings.
- Click Save and Publish.
