Editing reports

You can edit a report definition and save it as a new report, or copy a report and modify the copy. If you edit a cross-item, service portfolio, time tracking, and custom report to remove any column, the existing filters will be reset, so instead, hide the columns and the filters will remain unchanged.

The following topics are provided:

To edit a report

  1. Click Service Analytics.
The Service Analytics utility opens in a new window. A table listing the available reports appears at the top of the page. The Count field shows how many reports have been defined for each category.
  2. Expand the sections until the report that you want to modify is visible.
  3. Click the link in the Name column.
  4. Modify the report settings as needed. If you change settings more than once during an editing session, you can lose the interim changes if you do not save them.
  5. To save variations of report settings as you work, select Actions > Save As and save the report with a new name.
This practice can also be useful when testing different report settings or if you are not sure you will keep a particular version of the settings.
  6. Click Apply changes.
After you remove a column, if you click Apply Changes, the filters that you have applied are reset unless you added a new column to the report.
For more information, see Configuring reports.
  7. Review the effect of your changes in the Table section.
  8. When you have completed your changes, click Save.
