Deleting service categories

You can delete service categories that are no longer needed. Deleting a service category affects only records that are created after you publish the container.

To delete a service category

  1. Open the service portfolio or knowledge base that contains the service category to be deleted:
    1. Click the Administration tab.
    2. In the appropriate section, click the name of the service portfolio or knowledge base that you to modify or click Manage to open the container Administration page. Then double-click the container.
      The container details page appears.
  2. In the left pane, click Category Trees.
  3. Select the category tree that you want to delete and click Delete.
    A confirmation message appears. Click Yes.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Publish the container to implement your changes:
    1. Click Save and Publish.
      A confirmation message appears.
    2. Click Yes.

      The Publication Succeeded message appears, showing the number of errors and warnings.
