Configuring settings for Active Directory Password Reset

This troubleshooting topic is about configuring settings for Active Directory Password Reset after migrating from FootPrints version 11.0 to FootPrints version 12.0.

Description

The following table describes Active Directory features, that not migrated from FootPrints version 11.0 to FootPrints version 12.0.

  • Active Directory server and certificate parameters were enabled in your FootPrints version 11.0, it is enabled on your FootPrints 12.0 system after migration.
  • The settings are available on the Enable/Disable of the Administration section in FootPrints version 11.0.
    The following image shows the Password Reset Setup in FootPrints version 11.0: 
     
  • The security challenge questions are not migrated because the questions stored are incompatible with improved method of handling the security challenge questions in FootPrints version 12.0.
  • Workspace: Where tickets are submitted after a password reset attempt.
  • Quick templates: Used to create tickets after successful/unsuccessful password reset or account unlock attempts.
  • Users: Users registered for Active Directory Password Reset.
    The registered users cannot be migrated because FootPrints 12.0 is enhanced with stronger security for passwords.

Resolution

Consider the following points while configuring Active Directory Password Reset.

  • You must add new security questions and registered users from on your FootPrints version 12.0.
  • The Actions settings have not yet been added to the migration tool, but these settings have been implemented in FootPrints version 12.0.
    You may select the desired workspace item and appropriate quick templates in your FootPrints version 12.0 system to be used for creating tickets for password reset attempts.
