Processing restructure input data sets for the Backout function

The Backout function processes the Restructure Plan data set and the Restructure Activity data set:
  • The Restructure Plan data set that is created by the Prepare function is used for input into the Shadow Initialization, Restructure, and the optional Restart, Backout, and Status functions. For backout processing, the PLAN_FILECTL subcommand is used with the BACKOUT command to process the Restructure Plan data set. For more information about the PLAN_FILECTL subcommand, see PLAN_FILECTL documentation Open link .

  • The Restructure Activity data set is also created by the Prepare function and is used as input into the Backout function to provide restructure activity information for the Restructure Activity Report.

Note

If you did not previously specify the optional ACTIVITY_FILECTL subcommand on the PREPARE command, Fast Path Online Restructure/EP automatically allocates the Restructure Activity data set by using the Restructure Plan data set as a model. It uses default parameters (DSNAME, DISP, UNIT, and SPACE) and the data set name you specified for the PLAN_FILECTL by appending 'ACT' to the end of the data set name. For example, if the name ends with .PLAN, Fast Path replaces it with '.ACT'. For more information, see Allocating the Restructure Activity data set for the Prepare function and Fast Path/EP products reference documentation Open link .
