Restricting incoming attachment size

You can set maximum sizes for attachments that are sent and received with FootPrints. The default is 5 MB and the maximum allowed size is 9 MB for each attachment plus the message to which it is attached.

To restrict incoming attachment size

1. Click the Administration tab.
2. In the System Management section, click System Settings > Server Configuration.
3. In the File Attachments section:
   

   1. In the Max Size of Each Attachment field, enter the size and select the size unit for the maximum allowed size for each attachment.
      Remember to allow for the maximum allowed size for the messages associated with the attachments.

      Preventing attachments from overloading your system

      If you enter a zero (0) in this field, any size attachment is allowed, no matter how large. For this reason it is best to select a file size that is realistic for your system.

   2. In the Max Size of Attachment Directory field, enter the size and select the size unit for the maximum allowed size for the entire directory.
4. Click Save.
   Your changes are implemented.
