Installing FootPrints

This topic explains the installation process for new installations of versions 12.1.00 and later. You can install FootPrints on Linux or Windows systems. For more information about using Silent mode for Linux installs, see Installing FootPrints using Silent Mode.

  • With the release of FootPrints 12.1.01, support for installation of version 12.1.00 or earlier will not be available.
  • FootPrints can only be installed once on each server (not in parallel on one server).

  • Do not install Footprints version 12.1 or Apache Tomcat 7 on a server on which Footprints version 11.x is installed. The Tomcat application used by Footprints version 11.x for the Executive Dashboard conflicts with the installation of Apache Tomcat 7 required to use Footprints version 12.1.x. The installation of Footprints 12.1 might fail or might not be stable.

  • For FootPrints 20.18.03, the Apache Tomcat 8.5 is the only supported web server.

Hi, Linda. Thanks for reaching out to us!

In steps 3 and 4 of the Prerequisites topic, you can find links to Knowledge Base articles that explain how to install and configure Java and Tomcat. The writing team will look into adding those links to this topic. Again, thanks for your input!
