Inserting images in records
For any field where you see the HTML formatting toolbar, you can upload and attach images. You can upload one file at a time or upload multiple images into the same field. The supported image file formats are .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp. The image size must not exceed the value set for Max Size of Each Attachment field. For more information, see Restricting attachment size.
Inserting image to a record
- Open the record where you want to add an image. The record form must include a rich text field (one that has the HTML formatting toolbar above it).
- To add an image to the rich text field, do either of the following:
- To insert an image from the clipboard, press Ctrl+V.
If you copy an image from a web source, and if the web server does not allow you to download images, the image is pasted with a link to the web server from where you copied the image. - To insert an image from a library, use one of the following options:
- Drag the image file from your library.
- Insert an image through the toolbar:
- In the toolbar, click Insert Image.
- In the file selection page, click Browse and select the image file that you want to upload.
- Click Send it to server.
The Image Properties window appears, showing four tabs: Image Info, Link, Upload, Advanced. When you are uploading an image, the Upload tab is displayed and when you are editing an image, the Image Info tab is displayed. Configure the settings for the new image:
URL Enter a URL to add a link to the image. Alt text Enter the alternative text that will display for the image. Ratio Click the padlock icon to lock the ratio. Width and Height Enter the width and height. Border Define a border. HSpace and Vspace Set the Horizontal and Vertical space around this image. Alignment Select the positioning options.
You can see the effects of your changes in the Preview box.- Click OK.
The uploaded image is attached to the record.
- To insert an image from the clipboard, press Ctrl+V.
