Deleting CIs

You can delete configuration items (CIs) for which you have deletion rights if they are stored in a FootPrints database. To delete CIs stored in an external database, you must delete the records in that database.

Note

You cannot delete a CI while another user is editing or publishing it. A warning appears, advising you of the situation. You can cancel your Delete request and try again later. If you are deleting multiple CIs, the CIs currently being edited are skipped.

To delete a CI

  1. On the CMDB Home page, select the CI that you want to delete.
If the CMDB Home page is not visible, click the More tab at the top of window and select CMDB to open it.
  2. Click Delete.
    A confirmation message appears.
  3. Click Yes.
The list refreshes and the deleted CI no longer appears in it.
