Creating tickets that are linked to Global Tickets

You can subscribe to Global Tickets for yourself and for other users. When multiple ticket types exist that are related to the selected type of Global Ticket, a list is presented where you can select the appropriate ticket type.

To create a ticket that is linked to a Global Ticket

  1. Find the Global Ticket that matches the current issue and select it. If you are authorized to subscribe to Global Tickets, Subscribe hyperlinks appear in the Subscribe column and the Subscribe button appears in the Actions toolbar (when you are viewing or editing a Global ticket). It may be labelled differently if your administrator has customized the button.
  2. Click Subscribe. If you are not authorized to create tickets, the following error message appears: This option is not available at this time. For more information contact your administrator.
  3. Select the most applicable Global Ticket. If there are multiple types of tickets to which you can subscribe, the Current Global Incidents dialog box appears where you can select the applicable type of ticket to create and link. If only one type of ticket is available for linking, the new ticket is linked to it automatically.
The New Ticket page appears, showing the information copied from the linked Global Ticket. If you are creating this ticket for another user, make sure to select that user's contact information.
  4. Update the other ticket information as needed. You can update many of the fields and perform other actions allowed for new tickets.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • To save the changes but continue working on the record to make further changes, click Save.
    • To save and close the form, click Submit.
The new ticket appears in your ticket list.
