Configuring miscellaneous system settings

You can modify various system settings such as the session timeout setting, currency symbol, and the number of items loaded for searches or the number of threads that can run concurrently for time-based rules.

To configure miscellaneous system settings

  1. Select the Administration tab.
  2. In the System Management section, click System Settings > Miscellaneous.

  3. (Optional) In the Session Timeout section, enter a value for the number of minutes before a user's session is timed out. The default value for Session Timeout is 15 minutes.

    Warning

If the session ends, you will get logged out of the system without any warning message. It is recommended to enter an appropriate higher value so that agents and customers can avoid losing unsaved work.

  4. In the Search section, modify the maximum number of items loaded for quick and advanced searches and loaded for default searches.
The default is 20 for both options. If you set this number much higher, the selection lists will be very long and more difficult to use.
  5. In the Currency Symbol field:

    1. Accept the default dollar symbol ($).
Only this value is currently supported.

    2. (Optional) Select Comes after the value.
The default is the symbol appearing before the value, for example, $10.
  6. (Optional) In the FootPrints Community section, select one of the following:
    • Make available as hyperlink in header.
      This is the default.
    • Disable FootPrints Community.
  7. (Optional) In the Time-Based Rules section, enter the number of threads that you want allowed to run concurrently when time-based rules are triggered.
    The default number is 10.

    Note

If you increase this number, more system threads are dedicated to process time-based rules and this might also impact overall application performance if sufficient hardware resources are not available.

For recommendations about how to increase the number of threads, see the Application Server section of the Performance Checklist support article.

  8. Click Save.
