Customizing your Dashboard


If you are authorized to access the Service Analytics utility, you can select the reports and charts that appear in the Dashboard widget of your Home page. Only reports that are already defined and that are enabled for use with Dashboards (set as viewable in) can be selected. For more information about defining reports, see Configuring-reports.

To create a Dashboard

  1. At the top right corner of the Home page, click Service Analytics.
    The Service Analytics utility opens in a separate window. A table listing the available reports appears at the top of the page. The Count field shows how many reports have been defined for each category.  Only reports that are enabled for viewing in are listed.
  2. Click NewDashboard.
     The Report Settings page appears.
  3. In the Title field, enter a descriptive name for your dashboard.
  4. (Optional) In the Description field, add any notes to explain the purpose of this dashboard.
  5. In the Report Visibility Is field, select Shared.
     Only users authorized with at least read-only rights to the selected container can view this report.
  6. In the Add Reports section, click Add next to the graphs that you want to appear on your dashboard.
     Each item represents a single view of a report.
  7. To view the effects of your selections, click Show Dashboard.
    The page refreshes to show the Dashboard design. 
  8. When you have finished making selections, click Save.
     Your changes appear on the Home page the next time you log in.

To modify a Dashboard

  1. At the top right corner of the Home page, click Service Analytics.
    The Service Analytics utility opens in a separate window. A table listing the available reports appears at the top of the page. The Count field shows how many reports have been defined for each category.
  2. Click Dashboard to expand the list of Dashboards defined for you and your system.
  3. Click the Title of the Dashboard that you want to modify.
     The Report Settings page appears.
  4. Modify the settings as desired.
  5. To view the effects of your selections, click Change Dashboard.
    The page refreshes to show the Dashboard design. 
  6. Do either of the following:
    • To save the new settings in a new Dashboard Definition, click Actions > Save As.
      "Copy of" is added to the Title field. 
    • To save the new settings to the current Dashboard definition, click Save.

Your changes appear on the Home page the next time you log in.

To delete a Dashboard

  1. At the top right corner of the Home page, click Service Analytics.
    The Service Analytics utility opens in a separate window. A table listing the available reports appears at the top of the page. The Count field shows how many reports have been defined for each category.
  2. Click Dashboard to expand the list of the Dashboards defined for you and your system.
  3. Click the Title of the Dashboard that you want to modify.
     The Report Settings page appears.
  4. From the Actions menu, select Delete
    A confirmation message appears.
  5. Click OK.
    Your settings for this Dashboard are deleted. The Home page will be updated the next time you log in.
