This topic lists the minimum requirements and supported resources for the BMC PATROL for Web Transaction product. Before installing BMC PATROL for Web Transaction, verify that the target computer meets the installation requirements listed in the following table.

Requirements for installing BMC PATROL for Web Transaction

Operating systems (for PATROL Agent only)

Any of the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008, x86 and x86-64, R2
  •  Microsoft Windows Server 2012, R2
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x, 7.x
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 is supported up to Service Pack 3)
Operating Systems (Web Recorder only)

Any of the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 8, 8.1
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012, R2
Microsoft .Net Framework
  • 3.0
  • 3.5
PATROL products
  • PATROL Agent version 9.5.xx or later
  • PATROL Installation Utility version 9.6.00

Any of the following consoles:

  • BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console 9.0 or later
  • BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration Console 9.0 or later
  • BMC TrueSight Operations Management Console 10.0 or later
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Supports any of the following Java versions:

  • Oracle Java 8.x
  • OpenJDK 8.x

PATROL Agent components: 138 MB

Ports

If you are installing an agent or console with PATROL for Web Transaction, you must specify the port number to connect to all the agent computers.

The default port number is 3181 for agents.

Web browser

This product uses PATROL Installation Utility 9.6.00, which requires a browser. For a list of supported browsers, see BMC Installation Utility 9.6.00.
