Configuring the virtual agent chatbot engine query

BMC Virtual Chat includes several standard virtual agent query definitions. For initial setup, verify the settings in the main query, Virtual Agent Chatbot Engine.

To configure the virtual agent chatbot engine query

  1. From the IT Home page, select Virtual Chat > Administration Console.
  2. Open General Settings > Virtual Agent Queries.
  3. Double click the Virtual Agent Chatbot Engine item in the query list.
  4. In the Virtual Agent Query Configuration panel, verify that the port and server name in the URL field are correct. 
    In a standard configuration, the following default value is sufficient: 
    http://[SERVER]:8080/programd/?qry=[QUERY]
  5. Replace [SERVER] with the BMC Remedy Mid Tier server and click Apply.
    Example: http://cal-server-mt:8080/programd/?qry=[QUERY]
