When you are in a chat with a live agent, you can upload files. The uploaded appears on the right side of the portal as an attachment. 

Your chat session might not have this feature enabled. Also, some file types might be allowed. 

Before you begin

You must be in a chat with a live agent.

To upload a file in 8.102 and later:

  1. To the right of the question field, click the attachment (paperclip) icon.

  2. In the attachment dialog box, drag and drop the files to send to the support agent, and click Post.
    You can add multiple files. 
    If you want to remove a file, click the X icon for the file.

    The upload file appears in the chat. 

To upload a file in 8.1.01 and earlier:

  1. At the bottom of the chat window, click the Add Attachment link.
     
  2. In the Add Attachment dialog box, double-click Browse, select a file to upload, and click Okay
    The selected file is listed.
     
  3. Click Upload.

The uploaded file is listed in the Attachments area. You can double-click an attachment to open it or download it, depending on the file type.
