The dashlet library comprises dashlet templates that enable you to build custom dashboards. Some of the dashlet templates are specific to the data that they display, while others enable you to show more general content. When building your dashboards, you can select any combination of dashlet templates; however, if you select a dashlet template that shows specific data, that data must be available in TrueSight Operations Management at the time you configure the dashlet.

This topic provides the following information about the available dashlets:

Dashlet configuration

When you select a dashlet template from the Add Dashlet page, the properties for the selected dashlet appear in a drawer-like section that slides out from the bottom of the dashboard. You can create a unique, descriptive title for each dashlet.

Available dashlet templates

The following table lists the dashlet templates that compose the dashlet library. The dashlet description includes the properties that you must configure for each dashlet.

The dashlet templates listed depend on the components that you have registered with the Presentation Server.

Best practice

Because you can use the same template to create multiple dashlets, you can also use the same title; however, BMC recommends that you use a unique title for each dashlet to avoid confusion.

Oops, it seems that you need to place a table or a macro generating a table within the Table Filter macro.

The table is being loaded. Please wait for a bit ...

Application Client Breakdown

Displays the average application end-to-end time or number of hits, by browser type or platform. You select one or all applications with App Visibility end-user monitoring and the specific metrics you want to display. You can see a breakdown of how end users are accessing your application and the average response time for each client.

Application Health - Synthetic Displays key performance indicators for applications with synthetic executions that are monitored by App Visibility Manager. You can see the following metrics:
  • Availability Errors
  • Latency Violations
  • Impacted Executions
  • Number of Executions
Application MonitoringApp Visibility Manager
Application Server Health

Displays key performance indicators for application servers that are monitored by App Visibility Manager. You select an application server on which an App Visibility agent for Java or .NET is installed. You can see the monitored applications that use this server, and graphs of the following metrics:

  • Number of hits
  • Percentage of latency violations and errors
  • Percentage of server CPU usage
  • Amount of server memory usage
Application MonitoringApp Visibility Manager
Application View

Monitors the health and performance of live traffic and synthetic executions of an application. You select an application monitored by App Visibility Manager and you can see the current status of each tier in the application. Select a tier to drill down to relevant data in the Application View.

Application Monitoring

App Visibility Manager

Displays the state of the applications that you select. You can select specific applications from a list, or select applications based on your specified criteria, such as severity and importance. For information about viewing applications, see Investigating severity and impact of application issues. For information about configuring applications, see Setting up applications for monitoring.

Applications Overview - Synthetic

Displays a view of the performance of up to 15 applications with synthetic transactions. It displays a timeline of the applications' status. The status is based on the status of synthetic transactions

The following options are available.

  • Static- the dashlet displays data for up to 15 applications that you select.
  • Rule Based- the dashlet displays up to 15 applications that meet the criteria that you select.
  • Single application-If you select a single application in the dashboard Global Filter, the dashlet shows data for that application only.

Performance and Availability dashlet Displays analysis of the availability or performance for a specific application over a specific time period. You can select a time range from Last 24 hours up to This month.

You can display the data for only the selected time period, or you can display another parallel time period for comparison. The time periods that you can select for comparison change based on the time period you selected to display.

Services dashlet

Displays the services that you select. You can select the services from a list of services, or select the services based on the criteria such as status and priority. Click any service to view the Viewing the details of a service page. For information about configuring services, see Setting up services to monitor from the TrueSight console.

Device Count by Severity

Displays the health of devices based on the severity counts in a chart where the device count is plotted against the severity. The chart displays both the number and percentage (%) of devices under that severity type. Select the severity chart to open the Devices view page.

Device Performance

Displays the performance metrics of a single device based on selected parameters. For each device, you can view a maximum of four parameters. Each parameter is displayed in a separate chart. In addition, a Device Health bar is displayed. Select the parameters data to open the Monitor Details page and select the health bar to open the Devices Details page.

Event Count

Displays the count of events for the selected applications, groups, or devices based on the specified status, severity, and advanced filtering options. The dashlet displays the count of events in a stacked, or Column chart, or in a segmented, or Bar chart. Select the severity chart to open the Events view page.

Infrastructure MonitoringInfrastructure Management

Event List

Displays a list of events based on selected filter criteria. Users can view the list of events assigned to themselves, or to other users, based on the filter criteria. The dashlet displays the list of events with severity, importance, date and time stamp, message, and status.

The user can configure the dashlet to view the list of dashlets assigned to oneself or to other users. Click any view event navigates to the Event Details page.

Global Application Delivery Displays data from a Real User Analyzer to help identify problems in traffic volume and performance that end users are experiencing in various geographic locations. For example where the highest traffic comes from or which area has the biggest performance issues.Application Monitoring

Impacted Users dashlet

Displays the number of impacted real users compared to the total number of users over the last 24 hours.

To display impacted real users, you select an application with App Visibility real-user monitoring .

Note: Do not use the Impacted Executions option of the dashlet. The Impacted Executions option has been deprecated.

Monitors - Top/Bottom Performers

Displays a graph that compares the top N or bottom N monitors.  The aggregated data and computed for plotting the graph at one hour interval by default.

Recommendation: From the Global Filter > Time Period, ensure that you do not set a time period less than 1 hour.

By default, your Monitors - Top/Bottom Performers dashlet has aggregated data for every one hour and the graph is plotted with those data points at one hour interval. For example, at 09:00, 10:00, and 11:00 hours.

If you set the Global Filter > Time Period to 15 minutes (less than 1 hour), you may see intermittent data points only at 09:00, 09:15, 10:00, 10:15, 11:00, 11:15 and so on if the data points exist at those 15 minutes intervals. However, the graph does not display 9:30 or 10:45 interval data. This is because this dashlet is designed to aggregate and compute data for display at one hour interval only.
