Installation and upgrade

Presentation Server typical or advanced installation

You can now install the Presentation Server by performing a typical installation or a custom installation. typical installation is recommended for installing the Presentation Server with the default settings. If you want to change the default settings used for the product installation, then you need to perform a custom installation. For more information, see  Performing the Presentation Server installation.

Support for new operating system for the Presentation Server

The Presentation Server now supports the following operating system. For information about all supported operating systems, see  System requirements for Presentation Server.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 (64-bit)

Changes to third-party platform support

BMC has discontinued support for the Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 browser for TrueSight Operations Management, which comprises the following components: TrueSight Presentation Server, TrueSight Infrastructure Management, and TrueSight App Visibility Manager.

Security

Applying Single Sign-On SSL certificate through the Presentation Server installer

You can now apply the Single Sign-On SSL certificate through the Presentation Server installer.

Backup and archive

Backing up the Presentation Server database

You can now automatically back up the Presentation Server database at configurable intervals. For more information, see Backing up the Presentation Server database.

Archiving the Presentation Server files

You can now archive a snapshot of the Presentation Server and restore it later. For more information, see Archiving the Presentation Server files.

Discontinued support for offline help

BMC has discontinued support for offline help. You can continue to use the ready-made PDF or create your own PDF for offline viewing. For more information, see PDFs.
