20.19.02 enhancements

This topic describes the enhancements in this version of TrueSight Orchestration Content.

New application adapter for Jira

In this release, a new application adapter for Jira is introduced that interacts with Jira REST APIs to perform operations for managing issues. Using this adapter, you can create new issues, update issues, add comments, and notify users for changes made to any issue in Jira.

For more information, see Jira adapter.

New application adapter for CyberArk

A new application adapter for integrating with CyberArk application is introduced in this release. This adapter consists of an actor adapter only and provides operations for session management, retrieve passwords, and work with safes, safe members, and accounts.

CyberArk adapter consumes CyberArk Web services and REST API calls to perform operations actions and retrieve password using the application ID and query parameters. The adapter is based on the agent less Application Access Manager (AAM) method for password retrieval and WebSDK API for application management operations. The Central Credential Provider AIM WebService Endpoint allows the CyberArk Adapter to make a REST or a SOAP call to securely retrieve the credentials (using application id and query) from the vault. The WebSDK API allows the adapter to perform safe and account management operations.

For more information, see CyberArk adapter

New base adapter for Apache Kafka

In this release, a new base adapter is introduced that interacts with Apache Kafka, which is a distributed streaming platform that can be used for building real-time data pipelines and streaming apps. Kafka acts as a message broker, in which messages can be published to a Kafka topic by a publisher and received from a topic by a consumer. The base adapter for Kafka consists of an actor adapter, which acts as a publisher for sending messages to a topic. The monitor adapter acts as a consumer.

For more information, see Kafka adapter

New Orchestration Actions in the Event Orchestration runbook

In this release, out-of-the-box Orchestration Actions for restarting services and freeing up disk space on servers are added to the Event Orchestration runbook. The out-of-the-box workflows provide pre-configured modules, which appear as Orchestration Actions for relevant events in TrueSight Operations Management. Event Orchestration runbook now supports TrueSight Operations Management 11.3.03 version, which ensures that you no longer need to manually configure event selection for Orchestration actions.

Support for the following Orchestration actions is added in this release:

  • Free up disk space
  • Start Apache Web Server
  • Start Microsoft SQL service
  • Start Microsoft Exchange service
  • Start SNMP service
  • Start Print Spooler
  • Start PATROL Agent
  • Start Oracle service
  • Start Microsoft Skype service
  • Start BMC Remedy AR System Server service
  • Start RSCD agent
  • Start TrueSight Server Automation service

For more information, see Event Orchestration runbook.

Support for BMC Helix in the Event Orchestration runbook

With this release, the Event Orchestration runbook now supports integration with BMC Helix using REST APIs, in addition to BMC Remedy AR System for incident and change management. The runbook supports BMC Service Resolution (BSR) and Proactive Service Resolution (PSR), which are integrations between TrueSight Operations Management and BMC Remedy AR System.

For more information, see Working with BMC Remedy IT Service Management

Support for encrypted headers in the REST adapter

With this release, the REST adapter now supports specifying encrypted data in the headers element in a request.

For more information, see Specifying header fields in the REST adapter

Support for PowerShell Core in the PowerShell adapter

PowerShell adapter now supports the new edition of Microsoft PowerShell Core. By default, the adapter invokes PowerShell commands using either the PowerShell.exe or Xcmd utility. To use PowerShell Core, you must specify the executable in the adapter configuration. For more information, see PowerShell adapter.
