Running PSL commands on PATROL Agents
You can run the PSL commands on PATROL Agents and view the results through the operator console.
To run the PSL commands on PATROL Agents, perform the following steps:
- Perform one of the following tasks:
- In the Main drawer of the operator console, select Devices > Grid View. Select the agent on which you want to run the PSL commands, and click the blue wrench icon
. - On the Show Monitors page, in the Tools Menu column of a monitor, click the blue wrench icon
.
- Select Query Agent.
- To select a commonly-used PSL command, click
and select a command from the list.
The PSL command appears in the Command box. Click Apply and then Execute. To manually enter a PSL command, type the command in the Command box and press Enter, or click Execute.
For example, %DUMP ALL
The results are displayed.

Reinitializing a PATROL Agent
You can reinitialize or restart an agent through the operator console.
To reinitialize or restart an agent, perform the following steps:
- Perform one of the following tasks:
- In the Main drawer of the operator console, select Devices > Grid View. Select the agent that you want to restart, and click the blue wrench icon
. - On the Show Monitors page, in the Tools Menu column of a monitor, click the blue wrench icon
.
- Select Query Agent.
- Click Reinitialize Agent
. - A confirmatory message is displayed.
- Click OK.
The agent is restarted.
Reloading a PATROL Agent
You can reload the config.default file and the change file for a PATROL Agent through the operator console.
To reload the config.default file and change file for a PATROL Agent, perform the following steps:
- Perform one of the following tasks:
- In the Main drawer of the operator console, select Devices > Grid View. Select the agent on which you want to reload the config.default file and the change file, and click the blue wrench icon
. - On the Show Monitors page, in the Tools Menu column of a monitor, click the blue wrench icon
.
- Select Query Agent.
- Click Reload Agent
. - A confirmatory message is displayed.
- Click OK.
The agent is reloaded.
Killing a PATROL Agent
You can stop a PATROL Agent through the operator console.
To stop a PATROL Agent, perform the following steps:
- Perform one of the following tasks:
- In the Main drawer of the operator console, select Devices > Grid View. Select the agent that you want to stop, and click the blue wrench icon
. - On the Show Monitors page, in the Tools Menu column of a monitor, click the blue wrench icon
.
- Select Query Agent.
- Click Kill Agent
.
A confirmatory message is displayed. - Click OK.
The agent process is stopped.
Obtaining the latest value of the PATROL Agent parameters
To obtain the latest value of the PATROL Agent parameters in the operator console, perform the following steps. The Refresh Parameters option triggers the collector on the PATROL Agent and starts collection data. The data is then streamed to Infrastructure Management.
- In the Main drawer of the operator console, select Devices > Grid View.
- Select the agent for which you want to obtain the latest value of the parameters.
- Select a monitor and from the Tools menu, select Refresh Parameters.
The command starts to execute and displays the Command Executed Successfully
message after a successful execution of the command.
