Configuring the Publishing Server to integrate with an AR Server group

To integrate the Publishing Server with an AR Server Group, set the following parameters in the pserver.conf file:

  • the CMDBServer parameter -  the AR Server Group load balancer host or the AR Integration Server host
  • the ARSGroupMembers parameter - lists all the individual AR Servers (<host>:<port>) of the group that have reconciliation function enabled.

If the Publishing Server is not able able to access the NOTIFY forms of the Notify ARDBC plugin of the specific servers configured in ARSGroupMembers, the Publishing Server may fail to receive a notification of the termination of a reconciliation job run and therefore no automated publication is started.

If not all AR servers with reconciliation function enabled are listed in ARSGroupMembers, the Publishing Server may fail to receive a notification of the termination of a reconciliation job run and therefore no automated publication is started.

When the Publishing Server connects all servers listed in ARSGroupMembers, the psstat command displays Started - Automated Mode and when only some of these servers are connected, it displays Starting - Automated Mode.

To check whether the Remedy AR servers of the AR Server group and the SIM NOTIFY ARDBC plugin are correctly installed and configured, perform the following tasks for each of the servers listed in ARSGroupMembers:

  1. From the computer running the Publishing Server, log on as Remedy User to the specific server. In case of load balancer, ensure to bypass the load balancer.
  2. Open the, NOTIFY:Servers form.
  3. In the NOTIFY:Servers form, you must find one entry when you attempt to retrieve the entries.
