Dashboard configuration is stored on a Real User Analyzer instance and is user-specific.

If you want to copy this configuration to another Analyzer instance or make it available on the same instance under a different user, use the download and upload dashboard functionality.

To reuse dashboard configuration, you must download the current dashboard configuration from the Analyzer and upload it to another Analyzer instance.

To download (export) dashboard configuration

  1. On the Action menu of the Dashboard page, click Download dashboards.
By default, all dashboards are selected.
  2. Select check boxes for dashboards that you want to download.
When uploading dashboard configuration, you can either overwrite or merge the configuration, so downloading all dashboards is often the best choice.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Follow the browser instructions to save the configuration file.

Note

Configuration files are in XML format. BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring compresses and archives configuration files in zip format before transferring them. The zip file is not protected by a password, so you can unarchive it and edit the XML file.

To upload (import) dashboard configuration

Warning

Configuration files are in XML format. Before transferring them to BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring, compress and archive them to a zip file.

  1. On the Action menu of the Dashboard page, click Upload dashboards.
  2. Locate the downloaded configuration file by using one of the following methods:
    • In the Upload box, enter the name of the configuration file.
    • Click Browse, select the configuration file, and click OK.
  3. Specify the method of upload:
    • To delete and replace all existing dashboards, click Overwrite.

      Warning

Overwriting existing dashboards breaks any links to dashlets that you have configured for use outside of BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring.

    • To add the unique dashboards to your existing collection, click Merge.

      Note

Each user account can have a maximum of 10 dashboards.

  4. Click Upload.
