Search the Knowledge Base

The BMC Knowledge Base is a comprehensive collection of solutions and answers about BMC Products. It's a great place to start when trying to diagnose a problem or answer a question.
When you click on the 'Knowledge Base' link under 'Resources', you'll be taken to a page with a simple text box.


Enter your search terms, question, or error message in the text box and click Search.

Once you've entered your question, the Knowledge Base will return a list of results that looks as below:


In the Results list, you'll find possible answers to your question. Clicking on the title (1) of any of these will take you to the full answer.

Oftentimes, the list of possible answers will be quite long.  The search includes Knowledge Articles, product documentation, BMC Community, Support Central, and YouTube Channels.  At the top of the results list, you can limit your answers according to their source (2).

The sidebar on the left (3) gives you several other options for filtering your results. You can limit your results to specific products by clicking the checkbox next to them and it will limit your list to results relevant to that product.  If you have logged in and configured your Favorite products, the Favorite Products Only (4) automatically filters by your products.

You can also filter by file type or year the document was published.  The filtering options will reflect the selected source (2) and search terms.  When the results are filtered, the filter selections appear above the search results.  You can remove filter selections by either clicking the X next to them, or clicking "Clear All Filters
