This getting started topic provides a high level overview of how you can configure and execute your scripts in the PATROL for Scripting KM.
- Install the PATROL Agent and the PATROL for Scripting KM 1.0.00 on Windows or Linux/UNIX computer. For more information, see Installing.
- If the PATROL for Scripting KM v1.0.00 is not part of your repository, download the installation file and import it as a single solution into the repository. For more information, see Downloading the repository.
- After successful installation of the KM, your setup is ready for configuration. For more information, see Configuring after installation.
- Login to the TrueSight console and create a policy for the PATROL for Scripting KM. Select the Script as the monitoring solution and LINUX-UNIX shell scripts as the monitor type. The main configuration screen will appear. For more information, see Configuring LINUX-UNIX shell script monitor type.
- In the Configure Script configuration dialog, click Add to open the Device details dialog. For more information, see Configuring LINUX-UNIX shell script monitor type.
- Enter the remote Linux/UNIX device connection settings. For example, device name, port, user and password. In the Scripts section, click Add to configure the Scripts. For more information, see Configuring LINUX-UNIX shell script monitor type.
- Enter the script details that you would like the PATROL for Scripting KM to execute:
- Specify the script name that you want to instantiate with
- Provide the script file name that you want to run on the target remote computer (you might use one of the built-in scripts located at %PATROL_HOME%TRO\Conf\Scripts\Samples)
- Save the policy configuration.
- Log into the TrueSight presentation server and locate the device that you have configured to run a script on. Click to open the device details.
- The script including all the monitor types and attributes is displayed on the TrueSight Operations console.
