The integration of BMC Change Management, a component of the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite, with BMC TrueSight Operations Management enables you to create an automated blackout policy in Operations Management. When Operations Management receives a change or a task request, the CI associated with it goes into a blackout state.
The integration ensures that false events are automatically blocked and you receive a notification of any changes made. Operations Management does not send events for a CI or a service if the CI or service is unavailable due to a known issue.
Integrating BMC Change Management with BMC TrueSight Operations Management has the following benefits:
The following table lists the supported software versions for the integration:
Software component | Version |
---|---|
BMC TrueSight Presentation Server | 10.0 |
Infrastructure Management CMDB Extensions | 10.0 |
BMC Change Management | 8.1, 8.1 SP1, 8.1 SP2 |
BMC Atrium CMDB | 8.1, 8.1 SP1, 8.1 SP2 |
BMC Remedy AR System | 8.1, 8.1 SP1, 8.1 SP2 |
After installing the BMC TrueSight Presentation Server, perform the following steps from the Operations Management console:
keytool -import -alias <certificateNameAlias> -file <certificateFileName> -keystore <Presentation Server installation directory>\truesightpserver\modules\jre\lib\security\cacert
Only the default user account (csm_user) will work for the BMC Change Management integration with BMC Operations Management.
Each time you update the password for the csm_user user account, you need to update the password in BMC Change Management as well. See Changing the password for the csm_user user account.
You need to ensure the password for the csm_user user account is the same in both Operations Management and Change Management.
To change the password, perform the following steps:
Operations Management:
Change Management:
If you are an existing BMC ProactiveNet customer upgrading to BMC Operations Management, you need to manually delete the registered BMC ProactiveNet instance from BMC Change Management in the CAI:AdapterEventConfiguration form.
Delete the entry in which the Adapter Instance Name field contains BPPM:<hostname:port> and not the entry in which the Adapter Instance Name field contains Infrastructure-Change.
During migration and post migration, any pending change events will not be consumed by the Presentation Server.
These changes need to be redone by BMC Change Management in order to have it in the Presentation Server.

*Considerations for upgrade customers*
Delete the entry in which the Adapter Instance Name field contains BPPM:<hostname:port> and not the entry in which the Adapter Instance Name field contains Infrastructure-Change.
In Fresh Install i am seeing entry starting with TSPS:<hostname:port> , it should be kept or deleted ?
