Enabled and used by default, the standard AR authentication method for BMC Remedy ITSM (including Digital Workplace and Smart IT), BMC Analytics for BSM, and HR Case Management prompts for credentials (user ID and password) and matches these to the values stored in the BMC Remedy AR System database.
Although these applications prompt for the credentials in a logon form, the actual authentication is performed solely by the underlying product (BMC Remedy AR System and BMC Analytics for BSM). With standard AR authentication, user credentials are not shared between these systems, which means that a separate logon is required for each product.
