Messages that begin with the BMC-IWS prefix are related to BMC Impact Integration Web Services. Each message is preceded by a six-digit ID number, followed by one of the following alphabetic characters: E, I, or W. The alphabetic character identifies whether the message describes an error (E), supplies information (I), or delivers a warning (W).

The following groups of numbered messages are related to the function indicated:

BMC-IWS-001001 through BMC-IWS-001022-BMC Impact Integration Web Services execution exception messages:

BMC-IWS messages numbered 001001 through 001022 are general exception messages.

BMC-IWS001001E Get exception when connecting to ImpactManage: {0}. Exception message:{1}

Explanation: Attempt to connect to the named ImpactManager failed.

User Response: Check the status of the cell and the network. Also, read the exception message for details.

BMC-IWS001002E=Get connection exception when executing operation:{0}. Exception message:{1}

Explanation: The named operation failed.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS001003E=Invalid cellName: {0}. Verify that the cellName entry is in the mcell.dir.

Explanation: The value provided for cellName in the operation is invalid.

User Response: Verify that the value provided for cellName is listed in the BMC Impact Integration Web Services mcell.dir file.

BMC-IWS001004E=Error in add connection to ImpactManage: {0}. Exception message: {1}

Explanation: Attempt to connect to the named ImpactManager cell failed.

User Response: Verify that you have a valid mcell.dir file and that the ImpactManager entered is valid. Also, read the exception message for details.

BMC-IWS001005E=Invalid connection handle {0}. Use the valid connectHandle value returned from 'Connect' operation.

Explanation: The input connection handle in the SendEvent operation is invalid.

User Response: Verify that the value you provided for connectHandle in the Connect operation is valid.

BMC-IWS001006E=Cannot create cellclient for ImpactManager:{0}. Connect failed.

Explanation: Attempt to create the sending event client for the named ImpactManager failed, causing the Connect operation to fail.

User Response: Verify that the mcell.dir file is valid, and that the entry for the cell is valid. For more information, check the IIWS log file.

BMC-IWS001007E=Error in send event. Reason: {0}

Explanation: An error was detected in the SendEvent operation.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS001008E=Invalid query string {0} in query {1}.

Explanation: The query string entered for the query is invalid

User Response: Verify and correct the query string.

BMC-IWS001009E=Get exception on request:{0}. Exception message:{1}

Explanation: The operation request failed.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS001010E=No query results existing. Please send query first.

Explanation: The input parameter in the operation request is invalid.

User Response: Verify that the input parameter is correct for the operation.

BMC-IWS001011E=No query handle existing. query failed.

Explanation: The query operation failed due to no query handle found.

User Response: Check the IIWS log file for more information.

BMC-IWS001012E=Invalid query handle: {0}.

Explanation: The input query handle is invalid.

User Response: Make sure that the handle you use in the response section of the query operation is valid.

BMC-IWS001013E=Invalid input parameter: {0} in operation: {1}

Explanation: The input parameter in the operation request is invalid.

User Response: Use an input parameter that is correct for the operation.

BMC-IWS001014E=Run API {0} failed. Exception message: {1}

Explanation: The execution of the operation failed.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS001015E=Check value type failed. Array Value expected.

Explanation: An array type was expected for the slot.

User Response: Check your client input slot value and type.

BMC-IWS001016E=Not a valid value for name: {0}. Slot skipped".

Explanation: The slot was skipped for the event. The values in the name and value pair for the named slot were invalid.

User Response: None required.

BMC-IWS001017E=No valid value in event. Event dropped".

Explanation: No valid value was entered for where to send the event. The event was dropped.

User Response: Check the input event in the SendEvent operation.

BMC-IWS001018W=Cannot find Component with ID: {0}

Explanation: The input componentId for BMC Impact Manager was not found.

User Response: Ensure that the CI that has the mc_udid equal to componentId exists in BMC Impact Manager.

BMC-IWS001019E=The input status: {0} is not a valid component status value.

Explanation: The input status for MC_SM_COMPONENT_STATUS is not valid.

User Response: Use the valid MC_SM_COMPONENT_STATUS that is defined in BMC Impact Manager.

BMC-IWS001020E=className value is required when query classDefinition with _classOnly is true.

Explanation: There is no input for className in the QueryClassDefinitions operation.

User Response: If the classOnly parameter in the QueryClassDefinition is true, then the className value cannot be null.

BMC-IWS001021E=Invalid RegistrationID in unregisterStateChange request.

Explanation: The input for the registrationID parameter in the unregisterStateChange request is invalid.

User Response: You have to use the registrationID returned from the previous RegisterStateChange call.

BMC-IWS001022E=No Registration data object. Cannot run unregisterStateChange request.

Explanation: The execution of UnregisterStateChange failed. There are no valid RegisterStateChange calls.

User Response: You must use the registrationID returned from the preceeding RegisterStateChange call in the UnregisterStateChange call.

BMC-IWS002001E through BMC-IWS002007E-BMC Impact Integration Web Services subscription exception messages

BMC-IWS messages numbered 002001 through 001007 are exception messages generated by the subscription function.

BMC-IWS002001E=Initialize subscription manager failed. Error: {0};

Explanation: The attempt to initialize the subscription failed, and an error message was generated.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS002002E=The subscription with id: {0} filterName: {1} does not exist. Call 'Subscribe' operation first.

Explanation: The client ID and filterName combination uniquely identifies a subscription from the Subscribe call. The GetEvents, AckEvents, and Unsubscribe operations have to supply the same ID and filterName as the ones that the previous Subscribe used.

User Response: You must call Subscribe before calling GetEvents, AckEvents, or Unsubscribe. Verify that client ID and filterName are the same.

BMC-IWS002003E=Execution of Subscribe failed. Error: {0}

Explanation: The attempt to run the Subscribe operation failed.

User Response: Read the exception message for details and possible suggestions.

BMC-IWS002004E=Execution of Unsubscribe failed. Error: {0}

Explanation: The attempt to run the Unsubscribe operation failed.

BMC-IWS messages numbered 003001 through 001004 are exception messages generated during initialization.

BMC-IWS003001E=Get ImpactInterface initialization exception: {0}

Explanation: The attempt to initialize the IIWS process failed.

User Response: Verify that BMC Impact Integration Web Services is installed and working correctly. For more information, check the BMC Impact Integration Web Services log file.

BMC-IWS003002E=Error in read Impact Manage server dir file. Reason:{0}

Explanation: An attempt to read the BMC Impact Manager server dir file failed.

User Response: Verify that the mcell.dir file exists under $IIWS_HOME/Tomcat/webapps/imws/WEB-INF/etc. Verify that it is correctly formatted.

BMC-IWS003003E=Cannot find server dir file.

Explanation: An attempt to find the mcell.dir file from the  BMC Impact Integration Web Services configuration directory failed.

User Response: Verify that the $IIWS_HOME environment is defined correctly. Then, verify that the mcell.dir file exists under the $IIWS_HOME/Tomcat/webapps/imws/WEB-INF/etc directory.

BMC-IWS003004E=Cannot find configSite instance.

Explanation: The attempt to load the ImWebServices.conf configuration file from BMC Impact Integration Web Services configuration directory failed.

User Response: Verify that the $IIWS_HOME environment is defined correctly. Then, verify that the ImWebServices.conf configuration file exists under the $IIWS_HOME/Tomcat/webapps/imws/WEB-INF/etc directory.
