To provide security, the following requirements must be met:

  • If the PATROL user has read access to the entire WebLogic and JDK installation trees, then user does not need to provide screen local user and password while configuring PATROL for Oracle WebLogic.
  • If the user does not have read access to the entire WebLogic and JDK installation trees, then user must provide screen local user and password while configuring PATROL for Oracle WebLogic.
  • If the Modules directory is not installed under the WebLogic installation tree, verify that the default user has recursive read access to the Modules directory.
  • The files in the subdirectory $PATROL_HOME/../srp must be recursively readable globally.
  • The subdirectory $PATROL_HOME/../srp must be writable globally.
  • If the PATROL user need access to the WebLogic file system, then the file system of the WebLogic must have either read and execute permission of the group owning file, which is in the root group, or read and execute permission for all other users. The read and execute permission can be achieved with the following command:

    chmod 755 webLogic file system
