Enhancements

Service Pack 1 provides the following enhancements:

Added new parameter

A new parameter, PercentPoolAvailable has been added in the BEAWLS_JDBC application class. For information see, Percent Pool Available (PercentPoolAvailable).

Support for IPv6

BMC PATROL for Oracle WebLogic now supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). Now you can enter an IPv6 address as the host address to be monitored.

Added new pconfig parameter and variables

  • A new pconfig parameter, disableRemoteServers is added to monitor the local Oracle WebLogic Servers, which are running on the same host as theWebLogic admin. You can enable PATROL for Oracle WebLogic to monitor the local Oracle WebLogic Servers, which are running on the same host as the WebLogic admin by setting the value of disableRemoteServers to true: disableRemoteServers=true

  • The following pconfig variables have been added to configure Oracle WebLogic Servers using wpconfig.

    • JAVA_HOME
    • WL_HOME

With these variable, you can configure the Oracle WebLogic Servers without configuring the pconfig parameter, setupCmd. By default, it points to the setWLSEnv.cmd or setWLSEnv.sh script in the bin directory of the WebLogic Server installation directory. To enable the JAVA_HOME and the WL_HOME variable to configure the Oracle WebLogic Servers, the setupCmd parameter value must be null.

Downloading the service pack

This section provides the information that you need to download and install the service pack from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

To download the installation utility and service pack from the EPD website

  1. Create a directory for the downloaded files.

    Note

On Windows computers, ensure that the directory is only one level into the directory structure. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image should not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.

  2. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html.
  3. At the logon prompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
  4. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
  5. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to see, per the EPD site help; otherwise, skip to step 6.
  6. Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose.
  7. You can download the installation utility and the product service pack using either of the following methods:
Using Component View
  1. In the Filter Products field, type BMC PATROL Installation Utility.
  2. Click Go.
  3. In the right pane, click BMC PATROL Installation Utility.
  4. In the Version list, select 9.6.00, and click Go.
