System requirements

This topic provides requirements that you should be aware of before installing BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility: Service Desk.

BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server system requirements

The following table provides system requirements for the BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server:

Software	Apache Tomcat version 6 or 7 The BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server is built on the Tomcat web server. The BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server installation program validates and installs Tomcat as part of the server installation. Domain Service account for Apache Port 80 and 8080 opened for Apache on the host computer Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) port to send out email alerts
Hardware	CPU: Dual CPU, 2.8 GHz, 32-bit Minimum RAM memory: 4 GB Minimum disk space: 20 GB

Remedy requirements	Unrestricted BMC Remedy Admin access. This is used by the BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility Admin account.
Database	BMC Remedy Action Request System (BMC Remedy AR System) server No database is required.
Multiple-product considerations	The BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server requires the Tomcat web server. If the BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility server is installed on the same computer as BMC Remedy Mid Tier, they can share the Tomcat web server if the Tomcat version meets stated requirements. Otherwise, the system will have two web servers running.

The following table provides system requirements for the BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility admin server:

The following table provides a compatibility matrix for BMC Remedy ITSM - Mobility Service Desk 7.6.06:

Java JDK 1.6 32-bit must be installed on the server.

If the Mobility server has an external IP, then neither BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) nor Mobile Data System (MDS) are required.
If the Mobility server is on a local LAN, then BES/MDS is required. There is no other way to get access to the Mobility server.
BlackBerry phones can access an internal IP with a secure Wi-Fi.
