Enabled and used by default, the standard AR authentication method for BMC Helix services prompts for credentials (user ID and password) and matches these to the values stored in the BMC Remedy AR System database.
Although these applications prompt for the credentials in a logon form, the actual authentication is performed solely by the underlying product, e.g., BMC Helix Remedy Service Management and BMC Helix Business Workflows. With standard AR authentication, user credentials are not shared between these systems, which means that a separate logon is required for each product.
To request a different authentication option, submit a request through your support portal, and BMC SaaS Operations will assist you with your operational request. Additional activities could be required to assist you with your new implementation.
