The application branding service allows customers to personalize their BMC Helix services applications and associated mobile applications with their own company logo.

This service includes the following:

As part of the application branding service:

  • Any environment can be modified to display customer branding in place of the out-of-the-box images and logos.
  • Changes to the default logos can be made at any time while a customer has an active subscription.
  • Upgrades require a re-implementation of any custom branding settings. With the exception of BMC Digital Workplace / Smart IT iOS device branding*, BMC will apply any custom images to your upgraded system.
  • A customer logo can be applied to a number of user-facing screens.
  • Customers are responsible for creating their own custom images for the rebranding exercise and ensuring that they are in the proper graphic format. Create your graphics in Inkscape, GIMP, Photoshop or a similar tool.
  • All images must be created in the designated file extension format stated below - Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg), Graphics Interchange Format (.gif) or Portable Network Graphics (.png).
  • Each branding request requires a separate work order or change request. If using the i.onbmc.com support portal, use the Request Something Else (if requesting prior to go-live) or Request a Change (if requesting after go-live) option for each request. If using Support Central, submit a request for each environment. Attach the .png files to the request. Make sure each graphic has the proper file name and size, as detailed in the Branding instructions column below.
  • If possible, attach only one file. Zip the files into one "relative" directory structure, for example \new_ icons and not c:\images\new_icons. Note that there is a 2MB limit to each attachment. Name the .zip file appropriately, for example new_android.zip.
  • With the exception of rebranding Android mobile applications, customers may choose to rebrand on their own following the instructions of each branding type below.
  • For each branding request fulfilled by BMC, involvement of the customer is mandatory for validation.

BMC Helix Digital Workplace / Smart IT for iOS devices

Because branding for an iOS device requires access to your Apple Enterprise account, BMC is unable to perform this function for you. BMC will provide you with a re-signing and rebranding utility to assist you in completing this request. This utility must execute from an Apple Macintosh machine running macOS 10.11 or later. To download this utility, see Downloading and installing the BMC iOS Rebranding Utility.

The rebranding script will ask you questions regarding the following four colors. Have your requirements ready beforehand.

  1. Theme color
  2. Header color
  3. Navigation bar bottom line, buttons and accent colors
  4. Text colors

All colors default to the BMC-defined standard colors.
