Verify the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization instance consists of the following:

Before you begin

Before you begin verifying the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization instance, you must complete Installing Application Server and components.

Verify that BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are running

To verify all BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are running, do the following:

  1. At $CPITBASE, type ./cpit status.
    A list of installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services and their current status is displayed.

  2. Verify that all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are RUNNING. The following table lists BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization components and the services that correspond to each:

    For example, if you have installed a Primary Scheduler and the Data Hub, verify that the Scheduler, Data Hub, and Httpd services, are RUNNING; if you have enabled the Service Container component, verify that the Service Container is also RUNNING.

To verify the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Console works properly

  1. Open a compatible browser.
  2. Go to http://<host>:8000/console or https://<host>:8443/console (for HTTP Secure), where <host> is the computer or virtual machine on which you installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization.
    For example, http://<hostname>:8000/console or https://<hostname>:8443/console (for HTTP Secure).
  3. Verify that the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Console is displayed, and then log on with the following credentials:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin

    Note

    One user account, admin, is built in to BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization. The default password for the admin user account is admin. BMC recommends changing the password for admin immediately after installation. For information about how to change the password for a user account, see  Accounts.

  4. Verify that the Welcome page is displayed.

    Additional information

    A message is displayed if the date and time of the application server server and database are not in sync. You must sync the date and time on both the servers.

  5. Navigate to Administration > SYSTEM > Status.
    The Components status table is displayed, that lists the status of the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization components.
    Verify that the status for all components listed is OK.

To restart BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services

  1. To stop all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services, type ./cpit stop.
  2. Verify all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are stopped:
    1. Type ./cpit status.
      A list of installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services and their current status is displayed.
    2. Verify that all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are STOPPED.
  3. To restart all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services, type ./cpit start.
  4. Verify all installed BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are running.
