To realize Business Service Management value by integrating BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization with BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, perform the following procedures:

Notes

Before you begin

Before you can enable integration with BMC Atrium SSO, you must have BMC Atrium SSO Server installed, configured, and running. The compatible BMC Atrium Single Sign-On versions are listed below:

BMC TrueSight Capacity OptimizationBMC Atrium Single Sign-On
8.08.19.0
10.3(tick)(tick)(tick)

Before you can enable launching of BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization from BMC ProactiveNet when viewing a CI (device) associated with an event, you must integrate BMC ProactiveNet with BMC Atrium CMDB.

For more information, see BMC ProactiveNet technical documentation and BMC Atrium Core online documentation, and your BMC ProactiveNet and BMC Atrium administrators.

To enable integration with BMC Atrium SSO

  1. Log on to the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Console as a user with the administrator role.

(Optional) To enable launching BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization from BMC ProactiveNet when viewing a CI (device) associated with an event

This task describes how to enable launching of BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization from the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console when viewing a CI (device) associated with an event. You need to configure BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization to become registered as a federated launch interface in BMC Atrium CMDB.

Note

This task is optional because you usually launch BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization from the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console by invoking a URL that has been embedded as an attribute (object URI) into an event. BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization does not need to be registered as a federated launch interface in BMC Atrium CMDB for this.

  1. Log on to the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Console as a user with the administrator role.
  2. Click the Administration tab.
  3. In the Navigation area, expand System.
  4. Click Configuration.
  5. If the BMC Environment tab is not displayed, click the BMC Environment tab.
  6. At the bottom of the BMC Environment tab, click Edit.
  7. In the BMC Atrium CMDBarea, select or type the following:
    • Instance: Select An instance of BMC Atrium CMDB is available in this environment.
    • Server URL: Type the URL of the BMC Atrium CMDB server.
    • Username: Type the user name for BMC Atrium CMDB server authentication.
    • Password: Type the password for BMC Atrium CMDB server authentication.

      Note

The BMC Atrium CMDB server user must be assigned an administrator role.

    • UDDI server URL: Type the URL of the UDDI server.
    • UDDI Registry Username: Type the user name for UDDI registry authentication.
    • UDDI Registry Password: Type the password for UDDI registry authentication.

      Note

The UDDI registry user must be assigned an administrator role.

  8. Next to In-Context-Launch registration, click Execute.
A utility runs that registers BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization as a federated launch interface in BMC Atrium CMDB. For more information, see BMC Atrium Core technical documentation.
  9. Click Save.
