The Chart Options tab enables you to define how to plot a chart for a time forecasting model scenario, which is part of Adding a time forecasting model scenario.

Note

The Chart Options tab is available only in the Advanced mode.

To define chart options for a time forecasting scenario

  1. Navigate to Workspace > All Domains > Domain > Works > Time Forecasting Model. The model details page is displayed on the right.
  2. Click Add scenario. In the Add a new scenario page, click Advanced.
  3. Click the Chart Options tab and edit the properties listed in the following table:

Property

Description

Title

Type a title for charts generated by the scenario.

SubtitleType a subtitle for charts generated by the scenario.
X axis titleType a title for the x, or horizontal, axis on charts generated by the scenario.
Y axis titleType a title for the y, or vertical, axis on charts generated by the scenario.

When a data point is missing

Select the action to be taken when data points are missing:

  • Show hole: Leave blanks on the chart
  • Hide holes: Connect neighbour points with a line
  • Fill with 0

Show legend

Select Yes to display the chart legend.

Legend position

 Set the position of the legend in the chart to Bottom or Right.

Tip

Position legend on the right to get better reports when the legend is long.

Legend sizeSelect the point size for the legend.The Default size is 11.
Legend colorSelect a color from the color grid. The html code for the selected color is displayed in the text box. You can also directly type the html code for the color in the text box.

Legend for series

Set how to label the series; an example is: %ENTNAME% – %OBJNAME% -- %SUBOBJNAME% – %LOCATIONNAME% – %STATNAME%

Y axis minimum

Select the minimum value for the Y axis from the following options:

  • Auto
  • Lowest
  • Value: Type a minimum value for the Y axis and click Apply.

Y axis maximum

Select the maximum value for the Y axis from the following options:

  • Auto
  • Lowest
  • Value: Type a minimum value for the Y axis and click Apply.

Type of palette

Change the palette used to automatically assign colors to series in the chart. The options are High Contrast, Heat, Theme, and Gradient; the next property appears when you choose the palette type.

X axis labels rotation

Specify the orientation of the label. Type a value between -90 and 90 degrees in the text box.

X axis labels alignmentSelect if you want the labels to be center aligned or aligned on tick.
X axis gridSelect if you want to Disable the X axis grid, use an Automatic value or use a Custom value for the X axis grid.
Y axis gridSelect if you want to Disable the Y axis grid, use an Automatic value or use a Custom value for the Y axis grid.
Hourly Ticks FormatSelect the format you want to use for displaying the labels for the chart when information having hourly granularity is displayed. For example, 12:34:56 can be displayed as 12:34, 12, 12:34:56, etc.
Daily Ticks FormatSelect the format you want to use for displaying the labels for the chart when information having daily granularity is displayed. For example, April 25 2014 can be displayed as 25/04, 25, 25/04/2014, 04/25/2014, etc.
Monthly Ticks FormatSelect the format you want to use for displaying the labels for the chart when information having monthly granularity is displayed. For example, November 2014 can be displayed as 11/2014, Nov, Nov 2014, etc.
Yearly Ticks FormatSelect the format you want to use for displaying the labels for the chart when information having yearly granularity is displayed. For example, 2014 can be displayed as 14 or 2014, etc.
Sort series by

Select the order in which you want to sort the series:

  • Label ascending
  • Label descending
  • Value ascending
  • Value descending
  • Label - Resource Monitor metrics
  • No sorting
