Integrations

New integration with BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics

A new ETL module has been provided to import application events from BMC TrueSight IT Data Analytics 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0. The application events are used as business drivers to support what-if scenarios. For more information, see BMC - TrueSight IT Data Analytics extractor.

New integration with Amazon Web Services API

A new ETL module has been added to import performance, capacity, and configuration metrics related to the Amazon Web Service instances. This ETL module also provides the capability to collect custom metrics using user-defined JSON files. For more information, see Amazon Web Services - AWS API Extractor.

Enhanced integration with BMC Atrium CMDB

Filtering options for white listing and black listing of systems are now available for the ETL module to BMC Atrium CMDB. For more information, see BMC - Atrium CMDB extractor.

Enhanced integration to BMC TrueSight Operations Management

The ETL module for BMC TrueSight Operations Management can now import LPAR metrics for AIX PowerVM systems, without requiring any configuration of HMC. For more information, see BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 extractor.

The ETL module for BMC TrueSight Operations Management now supports KVM system metrics. For more information, see BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 extractor.

Enhanced integration with OpenStack

The ETL module for OpenStack is now available as a Service ETL. For more information, see OpenStack - OpenStack API Extractor Service.

The ETL module for OpenStack also provides support for leveraging the Ceilometer API. For more information, see OpenStack Clouds - Support for Ceilometer.

Enhanced platform support for Reservations


 
Reservation analytics now support KVM and AIX PowerVM Shared Processor Pools as targets. For more information, see Reservations. -


New integration mechanism for importing reservations from external systems

 

A new ETL module has been added to import reservations from XML files. For more information, see Generic - Reservation XML file parser. For more information about the required XML format, see Preparing to integrate XML files

Enhancements to Reservation Analytics

The ability to allocate and manage resource quotas allocated to Tenants has been added. For more information, see Tenants.Reservations > Tenants

The ability to create a Reservation by directly specifying required resources without having to use templates has been added.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery can be specified as additional requirements for Reservations. New chart options for Analysis

Additional chart options are available for Analysis, such as define line styles, customize legend details, and position and create custom legends. For more information, see Chart Options tab and Editing an analysis.

Improvements to usability of Time Forecasting Models

New OpenStack view

A new out-of-the-box Cloud view for OpenStack-based cloud infrastructures has been added. This view provides the capacity visibility at all levels of the Openstack Cloud, such as Cloud, Regions, Availability Zones, Host Aggregates, Hypervisors, Instance Types (and Flavors) and Tenants. Installation

The installation files can now be used to install BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization on any Linux platform. For more information, see Downloading the installation files and Installing Application Server and components.

Migration

An out-of-the-box utility is now available to help migrate BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization installations from an existing server to a new server even if these servers use different platforms. For more information, see Server migration.
