Creating custom performance reports
- From the Start menu, select All Programs > SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.0 > SAP BusinessObjects BI platform > SAP BusinessObjects BI platform Java BI Launch Pad.
- Enter your log in details and and click Log On.
- From the Applications menu, select Web Intelligence Application.
- Click New and select Universe as data source.
A list of all universes is displayed. Select BPPM DataMart.unx Universe.
A window for New Web Intelligence Document appears.
- Drag and drop appropriate objects from the objects lists on the left to the Result Objects pane. A typical performance report may include the following objects:
- BPPM Server Name, Device Name, Monitor Type, Attribute Name, Instance Name, Date, and the following Measures objects Average Value, Minimum Value, and Maximum Value.
- You can also add pre-defined filters to the Query Filters pane from the Performance Custom Dimensions folder. For example, add the Enter/Select Device - Monitor - Instance filter.
Your new Web Intelligent Document looks like this:
- Click Run Query > Edit, by default the system creates a tabular format of the objects you have selected.
- You can add graph report by:
- Right-click the Report tab and select Add Report.
- Click the Report Element tab and select the chart you want. For example, Report Element > Charts > Line.
- Click the Available Objects tab from left and drag your report objects on to the chart. For example, place the Daily object on the X axis; place the Average Value on the Y axis; and place Device Name on the Z axis.
- Right-click on the chart and select Formal Chart > Global > Area Display > Legend. Select Visible check box to add a legend to your chart.
- In case of multiple attributes, a section is required on the attribute name. To create a section, select Report Element > Section > Insert Section and drop it above the graph in the report. The Available objects window displays. Select the Attribute Name object and click OK.
- Click Data Access > Refresh and select values for Device, Monitor, and Instance in the prompts that appear.
- Click Run Query. The chart is now populated with values.
- Click on the Analysis tab and select the Drill icon on the toolbar to enable drilling on the report.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
