This topic provides information that you need to download a Patch for the BMC Middleware Automation product from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. You can choose between the following patch deliverable options:
Service Packs and Patches are full installations of the BMC Middleware Automation product.
Ensure that your environment fulfills the requirements described in System requirements.
Create a directory in which to place the downloaded files.
On Microsoft Windows computers, ensure that the directory is only one level into the directory structure. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image should not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.
At the logon prompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
If you are accessing this site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms you want to see, per the EPD site help; otherwise, skip to step 6.
Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose, and select the Licensed Products tab.
On the Licensed Products tab, perform the following steps:
Click the BMC BladeLogic Application Release Automation - Standard link, and then click the Patches tab.
Select the product version from the Version list.
Select your platform from the Platform list, and click Go.
Alternatively, you can access the Patch downloads page from the Product Patches tab: Expand BMC BladeLogic Application Release Automation - Standard > BMC BladeLogic Application Release Automation - Standard 8.6.00 and any remaining branches to display the downloadable files.
To download the selected items, click the link with the Patch version that you want to download, and then click Save. You can also click Save as, if you want to select a specific directory for saving the downloadable files.
Alternatively, you can select the check box next to the version that you want to download, and then start downloading the files either via Download (FTP) or Download Manager:
Select the destination and extract the archive files to an empty directory.
Open the folder with the extracted files and perform the following actions based on the operation system you use:
(Microsoft Windows) Double-click the deliver.exe file. If the Open File - Security Warning dialog appears, click Run.
If you already have another BMC Middleware Automation instance open, the Workspace locked warning appears. Click OK and in the Workspace Launcher dialog select other workspace folder for the current session, or simply rename the workspace, so you have two separate folders for two separate BMC Middleware Automation instances.
In the License dialog box, in the License File field, click Browse, select the BMC Middleware Automation license file, and then click OK.
Click Yes to restart the application for the changes to take effect.
