This topics describes the port and browser requirements for BMC Decision Support – Network Automation.
BMC Decision Support – Network Automation requires three free ports for the installation that are mentioned in the following sections.
During the product installation you are prompted for port numbers. Ensure that the port numbers that you provide are not already being used by other services. For example, if you are installing the product on a computer on which BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) is already installed, be sure that there are no port conflicts. Similarly, if you are installing BusinessObjects BI on a computer on which BMC Decision Support – Network Automation or BMC Network Automation is already installed, be sure that there are no port conflicts.
The installer checks that ports are not in use by running applications or services; however, the installer cannot check for stopped applications or services.
The following table lists the default port numbers for various types of databases.
These are the default ports on which the database instances are configured. Change the port numbers if your database instances listen on different ports.
|BMC Network Automation database type||Default port number|
The following table lists the default port numbers for Apache Tomcat web server to be used by BMC Decision Support – Network Automation. You can configure these ports on different port numbers than the ones listed in the table.
|Type of port||Default port number|
You need to provide the HTTP port only if you redirect HTTP request to HTTPS.
By default, BMC Decision Support – Network Application uses port 6400 to communicate with the SAP BusinessObjects BI server (reporting server). Change this port number if your BusinessObjects BI server listens on a different port. If you need further information about BusinessObjects BI port requirements, refer to the product documentation (see SAP BusinessObjects BI platform documentation).
For the port requirements and instructions to configure BusinessObjects BI server in a firewall environment, see the "Configuring BI platform for firewalls" section in the Business Intelligence Platform Administrator Guide at PDFs.
BMC Decision Support – Network Automation works with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7.x and later.
