Information

BMC Performance Assurance supports the full vCenter/vSphere 5 series. The base API used for Perform data collection within the vSphere 5 series is not expected to change, so the tolerance mode support is considered to be available by default for future point releases. Tolerance mode support means that functionality available in the base vSphere 5 release will be supported in the new point release (for example, vSphere 5.1) but exploitation of new functionality introduced in that point release is not included.

Support for new functionality introduced in a vSphere point release will typically be added to the BMC Performance Assurance product via a future Service Pack or future release. If you are interested in BMC Performance Assurance support for a new feature or functionality made available in a vSphere 5 point release, contact BMC Technical Support to pursue the enhanced functionality via the Request for Enhancement process.

As new vSphere point releases are made available, they will be reviewed by the BMC Performance Assurance Quality Assurance team, but the release support statement will only be updated in the event that BMC Performance Assurance cannot extended support to the new vSphere 5 point release (which is unlikely).

The following tables list the OSs on which you can currently install and use Perform Agent. The tables are divided as follows:
