    When you add a remote cell by using the mcrtcell CLI command, you need to register the cell with the Infrastructure Management Server by using the iadmin -ac command. Follow these steps to register remote cells in the administrator console.

    To display remote cells in the Infrastructure Management tab

    1. Use the iadmin -ac command to register the cell with the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. From the installationDirectory/server/bin directory, run the iadmin -ac command as in the following example:
      iadmin -ac
      name=sparkles_cell:key=mc:primaryHost=moondog:primaryPort=2008:
      failoverHost=suncat:failoverPort=2008:environment=Production:usergroups=*

      Note

      If you are using the IPv6 address instead of the host name, ensure that the IPv6 address in enclosed in square parentheses []. This applies to both the primary and the secondary hosts. For example,
      iadmin -ac name=chas_cell3:
      key=mc:primaryHost=[2001:500:100:1447:250:56ff:febd:7c0a]:
      primaryPort=8608:environment=Production:usergroups=*

      The cell is added automatically to the cell_info.list of the Infrastructure Management Server located in the installationDirectory/pronto/conf directory. It is also automatically added to the admin.dir file of the Admin cell located in the installationDirectory/pronto/data/admin directory, as in the following example:

      cell moondog_10 mc
      cell Admin mc
      cell sparkles_cell mc
      cell moondog_10 mc
      cell Admin mc

    2. Add the cell entry to the mcell.dir file. By default, the file is located in the installationDirectory/pw/server/etc directory.
    3. Restart the cell that you are registering.
    4. Restart the administration console.

      The newly registered cell is displayed in the Infrastructure tab of the administrator console. In the Event View of the operator console, you can see that the cell that you have registered sends a registration event to the administrator console.
